ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

In all traditions across the world, women are perceived to be the embodiment of creative energy. World history has numerous examples of women who have dedicated their lives for the upliftment of the society and served as role models in different fields. In recent times world organizations like UN, UNICEF, WHO etc focused their attention on the empowerment of women.

This Amrita- ACM-W celebration of Women in Computing (A2CWiC), which will serve as a platform for both budding and renowned women researchers in the field of computer science and information technology to share their experiences and chart a roadmap for the future. This will be the first time such a conference is being hosted in India. This conference will highlight pioneering and cutting edge research by women in computing, social issues of relevance to women in computing, a platform to encourage collaboration globally between researchers and successful professionals, and opportunities for role modeling and mentorship to encourage young women to enter the field of computing.

Proposed Outcomes of the conference

Computerized technology plays an integral in solving the issues the world faces today. When women participate and contribute to technological advancements, they offer creativity, compassion and empathy. These qualities add an important dimension to solving societal problems. We hope this conference will inspire women researchers and students to reach new heights in their chosen field.
